PROJECT: Comune di Pescara

As we walk along the Riviera I'll tell you a story. Once upon a time there was Pescara, a small village south of the river, in the province of Chieti, and once upon a time there was Castellammare Adriatico, nestled between the sea and hills, north of the river, in the province of Teramo. With the Italian unification, in 1861, the coastal territory grew, changed and developed, but the initial conditions of Castellammare and Pescara were profoundly different. The first was a small agricultural center, with the town scattered on the hills around the Madonna dei Sette Dolori and the beach crossed by the provincial coast and the Strada Salara, all dotted with villas. Among the many, we know Villa Sabucchi, Villa Mezzopreti, Villa Basile, Villa Muzii and Villa De Riseis, the closest to the sea and the fishing village Borgo Marina. Inside, two large play areas, a catering area for parties and dinners with friends, a mini kiosk that sells drinks, candies and ice cream, soccer and basketball fields where school and non-school baby teams train, cycle path, central track for Rollers, Skaters and free play.
